Somehow world has taught us to earn things and not to accept things for free . . . we love things for free, but if someone offers it free to us on the road, we would think twice to accept it, often we would not . . . we would still need a thousand explanation for that, we trade our time for that and “earn” it . . . The only thing which we have been trained to get for free is buy one, get one free!! or Other way to put it is - Pay for 2, get 2 free !!
This has been in the case of faith too . . . we want to do rituals and get salvation, we want to give money and get things . . . we want to pay heavily and value it . . . we can’t drink water from a tap, but we are ready to pay and believe in a sentence and in two stamps which states it is good to drink, we wouldn’t dare to eat a well known fruit from the jungle , but would buy it from the super market or "earn" it from the STAR hotel and then say tasty !!
Lets take this case from the Bible, Israel was asked to just obey (just like we are asked to) but they found it hard, they could only obey something which had a lot of complexity, like giving their children for sacrifice and then pleasing the Gods and . . .
How are we?? Have we made a complex world around us?? The catch phrase is “We have made a simple world complex and have given it even more complex solutions!!”
The fun is - only to learn after some years that those were not solutions. Often it’s like Joe who fastens his old car engine with metal binding wire round & round and again & again through everything near the engine to keep it from falling down forever . . . and he does that every day!!
Have we become so programmed to earning things?? Have we made our life so complex?? Have you thought about a FREE Salvation?? . . . what if some one else has already “earned” it for you . . .
